Snowplow heaters are necessary for snow plows motors that run in extreme cold. In addition, it can increase your motor’s productivity. Snowplowing vehicles need their snow plow motor’s to continue running smoothly all winter long.
These heavy-duty vehicles are responsible for clearing the way after snowstorms. Combined Manufacturing's Snow Plow Heater maintains a stable heating system to keep the motor running well no matter the weather conditions. The heater also improves the oil viscosity to keep the engine running during the toughest of weather.
Combined Manufacturing’s snow plow heaters feature a standard design, and they can be used in old style Western Mark III, Uni-Mount, Cable and solenoid operated motors. This Wph1001 snow plow heater measures 4.125” long. Combined Manufacturing also makes a long version of this heater that is 6 1/4” long. The snow plow pump motor works efficiently as the heater prevents freeze-ups even in cold weather.
The Snow Plow Heater is easy to install with its one-wire installation process. Drawing only 10 Amps and delivering a stable heating system to enhance the performance of your vehicle’s engine, this heater is sure to become your favorite.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLOW HEATER:
- Drain and replace fluid, make sure that fluid is full only with the lift ram DOWN. If the lift ram is up, then when it comes down it will overfill the reservoir and cause damage to the snow plow motor and snow plow heater.
- Replace the fill plug with the plow heater, DO NOT use thread tape. Heater MUST ground though the threads.
- Run a 16-gauge wire from your fuse panel though a toggle switch to the post on the heater. This snow plow heater will draw 10 amps. Make sure you increase the fuse to accommodate this.
NOTE: Make sure that you get power from your fuse box that is only “HOT” when your motor is running. If not, you may accidently leave it on and run your battery down.
- Turn on Plow Heater as needed, when warming up vehicle and during lowing in extreme cold and blowing snow.
- Do not leave on while idling for long periods of time, as this may overheat the power pack.
NOTE: On the Western Mark Series, you may need to purchase a 3/8” to ¼" pipe reducer fitting. These are brass and can be found at most all hardware and automotive stores.
